When I made this piece, we were supposed to be having an exercise in the application of gold leaf. I'm not quite sure how it happened, maybe there was a wrinkle in the paper or something, but it ended up tearing ever so slightly, and ever so perfectly, so it looks just like a bolt of lightning.
