This was Halloween in my painting class: the assignment was to paint something gruesome and/or frightening. This was just after I shaved my head, so some people said it looked like a gaunt version of myself, although my inspiration for this nameless character was a combination of Voldemort and Gollum. I painted the face first, and then chose not to add hair, partially to keep the focus on the face and partially to keep the person sexless. Perhaps this is what someone who embodies such characteristics as Voldemort and Gollum represent would look like: me, after shaving my head? I should hope not, but perhaps this piece just represents that side of everyone.
