Artists' Materials & Methods at Bard College

This was actually a chemistry class which focused on the science behind light and color, and its relation to the properties of different kinds of pigments in various artistic mediums. It was a fascinating class and very relevant to both my artistic and scientific pursuits; also the labs were particularly excellent, usually involving simply playing around with various artistic media. One such experiment was our exploration of fresco and it's chemical composition and preparation as well as proper techniques for its use. It was actually one of the most difficult materials I've ever worked with, and this is the result of my hard work in that lab.
