In 8th grade metal shop, you were either allowed to make a table, a candleholder, or a lamp. There was only one lamp design available to us, and it was made by twisting metal rods (taken from underneath political campaign signs) into nicely curved lamps. (Note: the wooden base was purchased separately, as was the lamp shade. The flowers are also not part of the actual piece; my mom added those for decoration.)
