This was originally the first composition that I tried for the chalk pastel self portrait, but it didn't really work well with the chalk pastel--it just looked too gentle and dreamy for such a bold-looking composition. So I just used the same composition for the next self portrait assignment, for which we were to use cut paper of different colors. It was really frustrating, cutting out pieces and then gluing them back together, but I really love the way it turned out.
