I really liked the original rhino,
so I went back and redid him, experimenting with different styles and
colors. The shading in #2 made his general shape really great, but it
was harder to show the wrinkles realistically--my dad pointed out that
he looks somewhat like a computer animation, before the detail is
added. In #3 I tried using color, which turned out well. I wanted a
more dramatic look, so I tried one more time, and #4 started out
looking a lot like the original. This time, though, I colored in the
sketchy lines of his skin, like shadows. The stark outlines around the
shadows made him look as though he was standing in extremely bright
light, which was way cool, and very striking.
