This started with a simple process of dripping sumi ink into a bucket of water, swirling it around, then dipping a piece of rice paper in it to "capture" the pattern of the ink in the water.  This design happened to be the same size as these couple of canvas boards I had, so I attached the one and made a kind of mirror with the second.
