This was the project during which we learned how to solder. We were each given a 10-foot length of copper pipe, which we could cut and solder together to make our sculptures. I started out by cutting small pieces off the end, thinking I'd figure out how to put them together later, like a puzzle with no picture. However, I got to playing with the remaining length of pipe, and I found I really enjoyed swinging it around at people (it was just the right size, you see), and voila, a spear. I hammered the little pieces until they were flat, and these became the beginnings of a point for my spear.
